Dev Diwali, also known as the “Diwali of the Gods,” is a spectacular festival celebrated fifteen days after the main Diwali, on Kartik Purnima. It marks the occasion when, as per Hindu beliefs, the gods descend to Earth and bathe in the sacred River Ganga. This festival is unique to Varanasi, where the ghats come alive with thousands of glowing diyas (lamps), and the entire city radiates a divine aura.
